The fast-paced, highly unregulated, and stressful world of hospitality makes bar professionals vulnerable to unique mental health challenges. While being the cash cow for meme fodder results in hilarious scrolling, our community deserves more (in addition to really funny memes). This class will highlight the risk factors facing the contemporary beverage alcohol workforce and provide attendees with comprehensive resources and tools to tackle these issues head on.

Amie Ward, The Healthtender, Safe Bars HQ
Amie Ward (they/she) is a decorated bartender, exercise physiologist and health coach, Executive Director of Safe Bars, founder of The Healthtender, and President of the Baltimore Bartenders' Guild. Through these platforms, Amie addresses health, equity, and safety disparities in the hospitality industry by providing training, education, and unrestricted access to wellness resources. While her primary work now revolves around health advocacy for the beverage alcohol community, she serves on the judging panel for the L.A. Spirits Awards, has been the Beverage Director for Camp Runamok since 2018, and thrives in executing high-volume cocktail events.
