Founded in 2009 as a week-long educational event, portland cocktail week provides bartenders with the tools they need to take the next step in their careers through classes, networking, and guided experiences. The first bartending conference to focus on the “business of the bar.” Portland Cocktail Week is free of charge for bartenders. Applicants are selected based on the quality of their essays, geography, gender, and racial equity.

Our mission is to democratize tactical bar education. Portland Cocktail Week has become the industry leader in helping bartenders close the gap between where they are and where they want to be in their careers. In addition to the invaluable educational sessions, Portland Cocktail Week works with our brand partners to create one of a kind immersive experiences and networking opportunities to reach bartenders all over the country.

Building on the success of our PDXCW Distance Learning channel, Portland Cocktail Week continues to offer digital and in-person programming. Portland Cocktail Week was designed to democratize hospitality education, and our virtual efforts did exactly that. Bartenders are now more able to access our industry-leading content anytime, anywhere, and always at no cost.

Continuing to offer access to these free, virtual resources alongside in-person programming is another step toward eliminating financial barriers for any bartender who wants to further their career while giving those who are able to make the trek to Portland the opportunity to connect with their peers and our brand partners through in-person workshops and events. This hybrid model for Portland Cocktail Week debuted in November 2022.
